Part 1
The state in which I live in has the strictest gun laws in the nation. We are one of the few states which does not permit CCW (Conceal Carry). The city in which I live in has a total ban on handguns. This means that if you are a law abiding citizen, you will not be able to protect your family in the event that a "non-law abiding citizen" were to break in to your home and threaten you in the sanctuary of your own home, your temple, your castle.
Picture this, it's three o'clock in the morning. Thug gang banging criminal breaks into your home, YOUR HOME, with an illegal unregistered handgun . You wake up because the dog is barking and you hear foot steps heading towards your bedroom. Terrified, you try to lock the bedroom door, grab your wife, hold her close, and ask her to be as quiet as possible as you stumble through darkness looking for your cordless phone. The thug knows you probably keep your most valued possessions in your bedroom and begins to kick the bedroom door down. He yells and says that if you do not open the door immediately he will harm your children who are terrified, holding a blanket over their heads, in their own beds, crying and calling your name.
You hand the phone to your wife and ask her to dial 911 as you try to reason with the heartless, ruthless, sadistic, piece of shit thug. He has finally kicked the door down and showing no mercy puts two rounds into your chest... he sees your wife trembling in the closet with the phone in her hand....
Forty minutes later the police arrive, it's too late, they are forty minutes late.
This might never happen to you or anyone you know, but it happens, and quite often too. Just watch the news, read the paper. The reality is that only the bad guys in my city are armed. They are surrounded by that shield of invincibility which makes them scared of no one. They walk around looking for someone to intimidate with a look on their face that truly, only their mothers can love.
The city in which I live in does not protect the law abiding citizen. They leave you at the mercy of these delinquents, felons, thugs.
Part 2 will be posted later...

You know how I feel about guns. They scare me regardless of who has them, cops, soldiers, my brother...
The reason I fear them is due to the way people can snap and come back to their senses when it's too late.
Did you forget about the incident that happened so close to the ones we love?
Gutmann Murder
That guy snapped. We are all, ALL OF US, a bunch of hot heads.
Everybody is entitled to make their own decision as to what's the best way to protect their family, I just don't want GUNS around me.
What happens if you're in your car and some people want to carjack you? Would you want to risk the safety of your family and the public by caring a dangerous weapon?
Although I don't flaunt it, my faith walks with me. I may have my doubts from time to time but ultimately I know I've been guided on every step I've taken. I will fight for my life and those of my loved ones but what would life be like if we went around looking for dangerous shadows?
Gun control is what it is whether it works to the individuals needs or not.
I'm sure if the topic was researched you would find that the states with the strictest gun laws also have some of the largest cities in this country. There is a good reason for this & once again I will quote a movie to illustarte my POV.
"A person is smart, people are dumb, panicky dangerous animals & you know it."
A person taught how to use a gun properly & with respect will most likely not do anything stupid with it. They will only use it when necessary, maybe collect them for whatever reason, maybe become interested in target shooting etc.
People want guns & sunglasses to make themselves look cool or to inspire some sort of "Alpha" personality. They don't think things thru rationally, they prolly make reference to "capping" anyone who happens to cause them some measure of discomfort.
If anyone reading this has or has had a gun, practiced with it & cocked it sideways to show off to someone.....
GET RID OF YOUR GUN BEFORE YOU KILL SOMEONE!!!!
You are not a PERSON.
You are PEOPLE.
Now some will say my rights this, my rights that. That ammendment was passed during the Civil War & is antiquated beyond belief for todays society. Anyone who will try to reason against this fact gets a /slap to the face till they get slapped into the 21st century.
Gun control, no matter how wrong it is put into effect has to be there to keep guns out of the "peoples" hands. Criminals will get guns no matter what the law says so stopping them from getting guns is neither here nor there.
Do you have a right to protect your home? Absolutely. But ya don't live in the Wild West or Vietnam. There is a limit to reasoning & everyone should know what the limit is.
I'm not saying no one should have guns because that is not practical, at least not at this time in history. But there needs to be some measure of control, & we don't make the laws we just have to follow em. Unless you want the country to go back to a Civil War type state the maybe the second ammendment or whatever law passed in its place will have some meaning in a modern society.
WELL HOT DAMN BABE!!
I'M GLAD YOU'RE NEVER THIS SPOT ON WHEN WE ARGUE! ;o)
Or, you know, disagree.
I was just looking at figures online. The US non-firearms homicide rate is about 3 times what it is in the UK. Your Firearm homicide rate (i.e. deaths per 100,000 people) is 24 times what it is here.
It would be helpful to see figures for the numbers of burglars killed by robbery victims, the other way around, and the number of people killed by domestic handguns accidentally.
We all fear violence and want to defend ourselves, but my question is - does it actually work in practice?
Living in a country where armed robbery is rare, where the police do not carry weapons, I can't believe that there is anything morally right about encouraging the distribution of guns to people. Given that the damage has already been done in the US, the question is about the best practical solution to reduce the daily carnage.
I've no idea what the answer is...
This is a tough one since you also hear stories of guns causing problems to the innocent as well. None the less by the constitution we have the right to bear arms. Mayor Daley or anyone should be allowed to take that away. Guns are power, with power comes great responsibility as well. If you own a firearm be sure to keep it in a safe hidden place where only those that will use it will be able to find it.
Although you make a good point about protecting yourself I think more kids ended up getting hurt with their families handgun. Crazy boyfriends and husbands kill their wives with their handgun. I would prefer to invest in a security system which has been proven to deter criminals instead of getting a handgun.
when I was in high school I lived in the country and our house was robbed. The sheriff came out to investigate..... He told me if anyone came on my property to shoot and then pull the body inside the house.
We have a handgun with a lock on it. We also have a security system and big dogs.
Bee,
You are afraid of guns because we did not grow up around them and therefore were never exposed to them. Our father might have had a revolver or two during our childhood, but never took the time to talk to us about gun safety or the consequences of using a firearm.
He would however, allow us to have toy guns, so we would run around playing cops and robbers. What would have happened if we would have found his gun? Our father was an irresponsible gun owner; he should have never had a gun.
Guns (even plastic ones) are not toys. If God blesses us with children, they will NOT play with plastic guns. I will however, take the time to explain to them what a gun is and what it does so that they are aware that guns are not toys.
My wife is not afraid of my guns because since she was a child, her father gave her "gun safety education".
People snap all the time, so, should we remove butcher knives, scissors, stairs (you can push people down stairs, I've seen it done in movies!), from our homes?
Whenever I transport guns in my vehicle in our state, they are in a safe, locked position, unloaded and encased. Furthermore, I keep them in the trunk of my car so they are not readily available, per our state law. If we lived in Indiana for example, I would most definitely keep my pistol on my person and loaded (Indiana allows for Concealed Carry), and if someone tried to take my vehicle, I would draw my firearm. I am not going to sit back and be a victim.
Bad things happen to everyone, people with faith in God, and people who have faith in Evolution. You know this, I know this, everyone knows this.
Thanks for posting; it's interesting to read people's opinions on hot topics.
SC
No, that's not why I'm afraid of guns at all. Just because I wasn't exposed to them as a child doesn't mean I'm traumatized as an adult.
I'm happy that your wife is not afraid of them because this means you and she will not have differing views on your enthusiasm for them.
In all the years lived in shitholes, we've been blessed not to have someone try to enter our home.
You're right people have been killed with knives but to me a gun seems more of an impulsive way to kill someone.
In your case, I think protecting your home is an excuse to have them. That's just my opinion.
You know, *impulsive* isn’t the word I wanted to use. Maybe dispassionate?
Calculated?
Okay, This is what I meant.
Killing someone with a knife is more of a personal thing where you lose your mind and want to inflict pain so you are 100% there while you’re butchering someone but a gun… it almost seems like you snap and your brain disassociates itself from the consequences.
Does that make more sense?
Andy,
There are only 3 states in the entire U.S. which do not allow citizens to carry a concealed weapon. Further research will prove there are some pretty big cities in the remaining states.
Responsible law abiding citizens want guns to defend themselves. Gangsta' thugs want guns to look cool. I do however buy sunglasses to look cool, gang bangers probably do to.
Capping? Hold your gun sideways? Listening to Tupac, or any Gansta' Rap while holding a weapon looking at yourself in the mirror? Different kind of people Andy and I would hope you would not put me in that same category.
My rights this my rights that? Wow, rights are all we have. Maybe if you lived in Afghanistan, Iran or Pakistan you would appreciate Our Rights here in the States.
Antiquated? Sure, but guess what, the 1st amendment is the freedom to choose your own religion and freedom of speech. Chronologically, the first amendment is older then the 2nd one right? Does that one seem ridiculous to you too? Would you like to have that antiquated amendment removed from my life, it was after all, written quite some time ago, right?
How about the 13th amendment which abolishes slavery? Antiquated too? Seventh: Trial by Jury of Your Peers, Eight: Cruel and Unusual Punishment, Fifteenth: Race not Bar you from Voting, Nineteenth: Women's Suffrage???
Should we get rid of all of these "antiquated" rights and amendments and write a new constitution and slap ourselves into the 21st century??? Nah, let's relax and think things through for a minute.
Bad people will ALWAYS have guns, not matter how many laws you institute. Bad people will always kill period.
Everyone has the right to defend there home however they find fit. Be it with a pistol or with a fly swatter. Everyone has the right to choose how to do so... or do we?
SC
Brian,
Obtaining a gun in the UK is much, much more difficult than it is in the US. I am sure you can obtain a firearm in the UK, however, the price to obtain one might be 24 times higher than in the US, and it would be illegal. One hundred percent of your homicides with a pistol are committed by people who obtain them illegally. Mafia/Drug lords?
In the U.S. you have two options:
1. $100 and a trip to the ghetto can get you a an illegal 9mm with the serial number scraped off.
2. A responsible gun owner can obtain a license and legally purchase and register a pistol.
The large majority of the crimes committed are by people who opt for the first option. That is why are murder rate is so much higher.
A thief/assailant would think twice if he knew you had the ability to protect yourself.
SC
Marie,
Good points. Security systems definitely deter thiefs. My only concern is the police response time in the event a thief were to enter you home. See this report from NBC written in : http://www.nbc5.com/unit5investigates/10417034/detail.html
Four to Five hour response times in lower income neighborhoods? Over an hour response time for more affluent neighborhoods? This is just so wrong.
See this article too: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1989556/posts
SC
God forbid we should get rid of a law because it's "antiquated" and was instituted during the Civil War. I'm sure there are plenty of ignorant fools who think the same way and would absolutely love to have a bunch of slaves running around calling them "Massuh". Clearly SC has done his homework, as the rest of you who disagree with him have not. I suggest that those of you who didn't do your due diligence, perform some semblance of an attempt at reading, and research the statistics that show the decline in crime in states that allow CCW. Remember kids, reading is FUNdamental...and it helps you to NOT look like a dumbass when presenting an argument, however weak it may be.
Anonymous, I would totally trust YOU with a gun.
I think you've proven something here but not what you thought.
Insults? Really?
Due to ANONYMOUSE’S ignorance, I feel I need to clarify something. I don’t give two shits about other people’s decision to own guns. I’m pretty much the type of person who doesn’t want to influence people either way about the decisions they make. You want to have an abortion? Whatever. Your body your choice.
My concern is my family. If Joe Schmoe has a gun then that’s up to Joe Fuckin' Schmoe. When we are talking about my family and how well I know them, then I’m interested.
A person who has a gun for security purposes doesn’t flaunt it. They keep it quiet.
For those people that decide to have guns and fight for their right, that’s their own decision, I hope everything goes hunky dory as long as you respect the fact that I don’t want them in my house since I do believe I have that right, you know, to have my own personal opinion without having to insult anybody.
Without having to be condescending to get my point across. Without having to ridicule those who think different than I do.
I hate it when people are so arrogant that they think they are the only ones who have 2 brain cells to rub together. That one is for you Anonymouse asshole!
See, I can stoop to your level too. Only, I put a face/name behind my words.
Bang!
Ladies and Gents, just wanted to let you all know that we are all intitled to our opinions, wrong or right, that is our right. First amendment.
Oh and Bee is my sister, Andy is my BIL, Dan is my brother, Marie is my SIL.
SC
Let' here it for Avdorock!!!!
I don't want to come across as a chauvinist but women will never understand the need to be the protector of the house. Yes women can be the best parent and want to love and protect their children but will never have the animal instinct to protect the den at all cost...
You can’t afford not to protect yourself and your family from someone who has no respect for you or your family. They are in it for themselves and will get what they want at any cost. Especially when desperate.
It will be too late when you or a loved is made an example of.
What then? Really, think about it...
The anger, the remorse, the HATRED, the REVENGE you wish to seek for such a mindless crime.
Bang! Your life has changed.
No looking back thinking what if I had a gun. Why didn’t the cops come sooner?
Too late Chale...
Be proactive and the man of the house and protect your family at all cost!!!!!!!
El Sid, you don't know me so you wouldn't be saying that.
I have more animal instinct than most men. Without being butch of course.
Women have the momma bear instinct that supersedes the men because they carried they’re children in their wombs. I would put my life in my sister’s hands before I would put it in my brothers’ and she. is. a. woman.
Bee, I do not know you nor doubt the bond between a mother and her children. I respect that...
It is just that women and men simply think differently.
Yes men tend to be more outspoken and hasty to act on something without reason. That is the animal instinct I refer to. In these types of situations there won't be time to be analytical. Simply choose to live or die.
Will you be prepared????
El Sid, I act first think second, unfortunately. That is my faulty wiring because I’m too macho for my own good. I will never back down from a fight and have fought the male sex before. I have no fear in me which is foolish, I know but since I let it affect my actions in a bad way, this is the reason why I would never own a gun. I tend to lose my temper too quickly and have to deal with the after math.
I’m ready.
Bee,
I think I like your style and overall, your attitude.
I also like that fact you know you may not have the control to own a gun responsibly.
But when it is all said and done, tough and rough can't stop a bullet.
Protect yourself and be safe.
Peace!!!!
Then I guess I’ll die trying but at least I won’t be in jail. I’d rather die.
Also, the area I live in is relatively safe and I’m not putting myself in the mouth of the lion’s den.
I think we’ll be okay.
Bee wrote:

I have had pistols since I lived in Addison, and you never knew about them until just recently.
Your opinion on why I have a gun is incorrect.
I felt the urge to post due to an article I read on our politicians and their efforts to shut down Gun Shops and Gun Ranges in the surrounding suburbs.
I feel very passionate about our rights, all of them.
SC
El Sid,
Your comments are very well written, clear, sharp and to the point. Yor sir, are a class act.
SC
We’ll have to agree to disagree then brother.
I pray you do have the self control you say and I will pretend not to know you have gunS to protect your home.
You say you’ve changed since the years I even seen your temper explode for no reason, maybe I’m judging you too harshly. Maybe when I’m all decrepit and bullet hole ridden (which is why I’m assuming El Sid wants me to be prepared because he sees murderous burglars lurking outside my home) I’ll say ‘SC was right, he did have proper control of his temper’. I’d love to be proven wrong! (Except the whole bullet ridden thing since that might actually hurt some.)
Testosterone overload.
I agree with Bee. You can tell when someone truly wants the gun for protection and when men want them to show off. Just like tools, why do men need so many tools? What could possibly breakdown that will require countless amounts of tools? Their cars are also another sign of their peacock feathers. Just another pissing contest!
I'm sure you're right with regard to the relative difficulties of obtaining guns in the UK and US.
Most people don't believe that just because we might wish there weren't nuclear weapons, that we should get rid of ours, and I'm willing to believe that a similar argument might justify you owning your own guns.
On the other hand, if the burglars knew you didn't have guns, might they be more inclined not to use them themselves, especially if prison sentences were much lighter if they didn't?
My gut feeling is that less gun availability means less gun-related deaths all round, but it's probably impossible to prove either way.
To put all of this in perspective, the US gun death rate (4/100,000 per year) is about a quarter of the rate for US road deaths.
I'm a Bee reader.
It’s interesting to me that these men think women don’t have it in them to have the animal instinct to protect their den. My mother raised me as a single parent and worked her fingers to the bone. We were once followed home by some thug who slammed her against the wall once we were in our apartment. I was 15 and she became someone I did not recognize. She beat the hell out him with a floor lamp. My mom has some balls even now. As for my father THE MALE where the fuck was he? My momma didn’t need a gun, she used a $20 Woolworth’s floor lamp!
Ana
BTW, Bee you crack me up! "bullet hole ridden" I almost got caught cause I laughed too loud!
Ana
Bee,
I was hoping to understand your feelings on GUN LAWS, and not your opinions on whether or not I can control my temper.
When I was younger I had a bad temper, but I also had bad credit, suspended license, got drunk with my "buddies" at nightclubs every weekend and would not hold a job for more then a year (by choice). That was 18 years ago.
If you disagree with my co-workers (anonymous writers), that is fine, but they are free to express their opinions without any influence or attachment to my or by my person.
Oh, and our offices are literally back to back from each others, our domains and IP's would be very similar if not the same (Site Meter).
That is the Truth.
SC
Sally,
If I wanted to show off, I would do it in other ways. I do have a ton of tools (construction), and none of them are new, which means I have used every single one of them.
Your 4 cylinder 1982 Dodge Charger awaits you... nice color too.
SC
Ana,
Not sure of the veracity of your story, but if it is true, you and your mother were very lucky, almost super hero lucky.
I could see it now, Superman with his super strength and tight suit, Wonder Woman with her Invisible Plane, and your mother with her lamp in her hand!
Maybe I should trade in for these lamps, they would look rather nice in our living room and serve a dual purpose.
Not likely, but nice try.
SC
Brian,
Yes, your gut is probably correct. No guns, no shooting. I really wish we did live in a state of utopia, but we do not.
SC
You're right. My bad. I went off topic. Here is my opinion about gun laws:
I have none.
Since I don't want one it doesn't affect me.
Should I not bother commenting if the I don't have an opinion about the subject?
Your readers can express their opinions all they want but if they call me a dumbass and are condescending I am going to react.
I guess it's a good thing I don't have a gun right?
Bee out.
Thanks Bee,
Please do respond when someone calls you a dumbass, or is condescending, but respond to them about THEIR comments, don't throw me into the pot.
Apples and apples, oranges and oranges.
By the way the second anonymous comment was made by a member of my team, his name is Arnold and is not afraid to post his name, he just did not know how to do it. He did not know you were my sister or that Andy was my BIL. If he did he might of toned down his response a bit.
SC
SC
Arnold
don’t know you but you came off as a fucken condescending piece of shit.
I mean that in the nicest possible way…...
Sergio
After reading your post you had me but………I was disappointed to learn that if you’re being carjacked you would pull out your gun and not be a victim.
So you could either become a murderer or loose you life for …your car.
I have no problem shooting at someone to protect your wife, kids or even your little brother, but your car??????????
I think the best thing to do in carjacking would be to exit the car ASAP.
You seemed a little trigger happy.
That being said, let do a movie night and bring your new toy, in your trunk please and if we get carjacked wait for me to get out before you start blasting away.
Being the only eye witness to a murder I know first hand that people can be impulsive
I live in GA.
Here gun control means use both hands.
I am glad I live in a state that allows it residents to carry guns.
As a matter of fact (please follow link)
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=55288
Gun crimes decreased when thugs knew they would be greeted by the barrel of a gun should they decide to assault someone. Hold on not only did gun crimes decrease but all crimes did.
This countrys legal system seems to look out for the rights of the bad guys more often than not, so why why should I the goog guy not be able to look after myself, and my own.
BTW guys If a "bad" guy came into my home I would seek my mothers protection first.
M
Dan,
You are probably right about the whole car jacking thing, after further review, yeah, I would probably exit my car and maybe, even offer him 80 bucks to fill up the gas tank. With gas prices nowadays, I would be relieved to report my car stolen and unload that 8 cylinder gas guzzler.
Yeah it looks cool, but driving 70 miles a day really puts a dent in the wallet (that one is for you Sally Sunshine).
SC
Clearly if you are just going to completely dismiss what I wrote as wrong & stupid because I didn't provide statistical facts you really didn't read what I wrote there. Your already on the other side of the line with no ability to listen to two sides of a debate.
If you can't tell the difference between laws that are way outta date with ones that are still relevant you should try & complete that GED before telling people to go out & read.
/burn o.O
avodrock,
I am curious to know which 3 states it is. Obviously Illinois is one. If the other 2 are New York & maybe California you just proved my point.
Oh and as far as crime & whatnot being down in states where you can carry. Well there I don't remeber hearing about a Waco style standoff downtown, Columbine style executions, or militant cults congregating in Grant Park. All of those would champion the "let the people carry cause".
I could also argue that a criminal committing a crime in a gun friendly state would be more prone to blow your head off rather than maybe just hit ya & move on.
Anything can be argued, any fact can be turned to make it look to show something it's not intended to, any statistic can be shaped to reflect your side of any argument. No one will win this there will only be arguments over it because a firearm has somehow gained an importance on par with politics, religion, racism & whatever other hot button topic could come to mind.
Mary!!!
That was hilarious!!! Gun control means holding it with both hands!!!
You my dear SIL, get the "Comment of the Day Award"!
I was going to go with my other SIL Marie because she made her point, and made the best argument for not having a gun in her home. Quick short and to the point.
However, your comments had both Yaya and I on the floor laughing. So you Mari, get the "Comment of the Day Award".
Next time we are down there in Georgia, we will go to the range and you will choose which gun feels best for you. Hope to help as much as I can.
SC
Andy,
The other states are Wisconsin (which actually allows for OPEN CARRY, which means you can carry your firearm but it must be visible), and the District of Columbia which has a ban on all handguns since 1976 (appeal still pending with the U.S. Supreme Court). With the exception of Chicago (3rd most) and Washington DC (4th most), that kinda "shoots" down your argument.
For more information, visit this site, if you are interested.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_in_the_United_States_%28by_state%29
No Waco or Columbine in Grant Park? How about NIU close enough? NIU actually hits close to home as another member of our team attended NIU and was directly connected with some of the victims.
If there would have been a few RESPONSIBLE (key word) law abiding citizen with legal guns at NIU or Virginia Tech, I gaurantee we would have not seen so many murder victims. The assailant would have been disposed of much sooner and in the case of West Virginia instead of 33, it could have been 2, the first person shot dead, and the gunmen himself.
I agree with you in terms of information available to sway an argument in either direction. I can probably copy 10 sites in which people have been murdered by illegal guns, peoples who's lifes would have been saved if they only had a way to defend themselves that was more than a $20 lamp from Target, or Walmart or K-mart. And you can probably find another 10 sites to prove the contrary.
In the end, it is what works for you and your family. I will not however, bash your personal decision either way. If you ever decide to purchase a handgun. Do your homework, research, test your skills, ask yourself if you are mentally capable of using it to defend your family. If you decide to get one, join the club.
If you do not feel the need to own a pistol for protection, perfect. That is your choice, but don't bash me for exercising my rights. Our rights are ALL important, not just some. Who is going to pick and choose?
I am sure some people spit on pictures of Obama, have meetings and sit in musty cabins wearing white gowns and caps, wishing they too had the ability to get rid of those darn amendments.
That is the Truth (from my perspective).
SC
I’m an avid reader of Bee’s blog and came on over on her suggestion. I feel bad for the other people who wanted to leave a comment and you just turned around and belittled and mocked them.
I live in Wyoming where guns/rifles are necessary for survival because of snakes, coyotes, mountain lions etcetera, it seems to me there is a way to get your point across without having to try and make yourself superior to those who disagree with you. If you do that to your sister and BIL and then her readers, well, I think you’ve proven you are someone to be feared while carrying a gun. Your coming off as a not so pleasant human being.
There’s a saying here in Wy “I’d rather encounter a ravenous mountain lion than a city slicker who thinks he has a right to his gun”.
I think you need to be humbled since taking a life is the worst thing you can do in God’s eyes. Playing the race card, which makes no sense, and saying things like “pick his poison” just makes you sound immature and, with respect to Bee, stupid.
Dan, your comment was extremely funny! I'm a fan of your blog too. :-)
I also agree with everybody else that “Arnold” sounds like a jackass with his thumbs up his ass.
Jamie
I'll take that award thank you!
I must agree with Jamie that although you make a good argument you might want to lighten up a little and those that oppose your views. Although I do not agree with your views on this topic I respect your rights to them.
SIL,
Marie
Jamie,
Immature? At no point did I insult anyone or call them names, yet you call me stupid? Just proves you ARE the idiot. There, I will come down to the 3rd grade name calling level in which you decide to live your life. I can already see the playground, the kids running around, the recess bell...
The name of this blog is THE TRUTH REALLY HURTS, not cotton candy and marshmallows. Whenever I decide to enter in this silly blogging world it is to talk about real issues, not how the sun sets in Wyoming, or how my co-worker annoys me because he walks around the office without his shoes and write ten paragraphs on the color of his socks.
At no point did I insult anyone; all I did was respond to their comments in the same fashion in which they were posted. If someone left a respectful comment with stated facts, I responded respectfully with stated facts. If someone left a sarcastic comment, I responded with the same tone. Take your medicine, don't drop a bomb, run and not expect any retaliation, then call me a bully.
Read again. Still don't see it? Read again. If you still don't see it... that is your problem.
I strongly believe in an EYE FOR AN EYE. If you give respect, expect to receive the same in return, however if you slap me, I will slap you back, twice, and probably put a figure four leg lock on yo' ash'.
My religion tells me that if someone slaps me, turn the other cheek... I can't and never will, but that is my problem and a problem I will have to answer to, to a higher power, not anyone on this earth.
The problem is I am able to respond to the comments with DATA not just guesses. Don't like it? Yeah it stings like acid. Educated well researched comments might be confused with arrogance, but again that is your problem. Come back when you have factual data to contribute to this blog, not just unfounded idiotic comments with no legs.
Playing the race card? What are you talking about? I am talking about our rights and the amendments? Idiot, just a pure idiot.
Humbled? I come from nothing and have worked hard to be where I am. Every single day I wake I thank God for the opportunity he has given me. I have had my foot an every single rung on the lower ladder, and work hard everyday to keep stepping up. I know how hard it is to be miserably poor, and respect the people fighting the battle.
I see everyone as my equal, EVERYONE. If you talk to the cleaning crew in our building, the landscaping crew, the cafeteria workers, the VP's, my colleagues... they would all know me by name, and I know all of them by their name. I have had just as many meaningful conversations with the janitor as I have had with my boss's boss.
My Grandparents, my mother, my uncles and aunts, my Priest and most importantly my wife know who I am, what I have done, and what I am about... you? Go back to Alice and her Wonderland. You do not belong here.
You bring a butter knife to a sword fight. Insult and be insulted. Respect and be respected.

I am the anonymous asshole that everybody hates. Feel free to join the club, membership doesn't cost much. I just so happens, Andy, that not only did I graduate high school, but I also graduated with a bachelors in electrical engineering from Bradley University...Magna Cum Laude. So if you need help with your times tables I'm more than willing to help you out. Am I arrogant? A little, but I can afford to be. I've earned it.
No, I will gladly accept said award.
Thanks to all who voted (sister and BIL)

“Whenever I decide to enter in this silly blogging world it is to talk about real issues, not how the sun sets in Wyoming, or how my co-worker annoys me because he walks around the office without his shoes and write ten paragraphs on the color of his socks.”
How patronizing since my silly blog is important to me regardless of the lack of “real issues”. It has served as my therapy against having to deal with a sub-species while my work load gets harder. Nice to know what you think about my blog since that is basically all I talk about.
Along the way I have managed to find people I call my friends. I have managed to have a small readership that seems to find me amusing and interested in what I have to say. Me, a mere woman. Baffling, I know.
Since it’s obvious we can’t get along in the silly blog world (as per your suggestion that I threw you in the mix when I replied to Arnold and you had to use my blog in your example to Jamie), you will understand why I will no longer visit your blog either since I’m all about unimportant issues.
It's good to see you have changed.
P.S. To Arnold:
You are an asshole and you're not worthy of holding my husband's jock strap.
I wouldn't say your arrogant, I'd say your ignorant. Magna Cum bullshit or not.
Bee,
I did not finish reading your message. DO NOT TAKE IT PERSONAL, I am responding to Jamie. Your world is YOUR world, my world is my own.
SC
Bee,
I am sad to see you took my response to Jamie personal. I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE IT PERSONAL, THIS IS NOT ABOUT YOU OR YOUR BLOG.
THIS IS ABOUT A LADY PERSONALLY INSULTING ME.
Let's be adults, this is not the real world, this is a blog. The real world is when we meet at family gatherings.
DO NOT TAKE THINGS PERSONAL.
SC
